About Future First

Future First believes no young person’s future should be limited by their start in life. We are a social mobility charity with over 15 years of experience working with state school alumni.

Our mission is to see every state school and college supported by a thriving and engaged community of alumni and employee volunteers that equips young people with the skills and confidence they need to reach their potential and contribute fully to society.

Why alumni?

Young people can’t be what they can’t see.

Those who are growing up in a challenging socio-economic environment often lack the networks and positive role models to inspire their future choices. This restricts their knowledge of options available to them, impedes their confidence to pursue ambitious aspirations, and ultimately limits their potential.

Having grown up in the same area and perhaps having had some of the same teachers, former students are ideal role models as they are instantly relatable. They can offer advice to students from their context and first-hand experiences and connect them with the world of work.
